Once again, Jamaica has shown the world the greatness that comes from this country. Tonight, at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, Bruno Mars, Sting, Rihanna and Ziggy and Damian Marley did a tribute to the Late Bob Marley. It was sooo good that it got the #1 WorldWide Trend on Twitter.

The tribute, which started off with “Locked Out Of Heaven’ by Bruno and his band, went on with Sting joining him on stage. The band then transitioned into one of Bob’s more popular songs, “Could You Be Loved’ which the Marley sons and Rihanna performed beautifully.

Now, MANY Jamaicans were upset by the Tribute. The comments varied from the length of the performance, to the persons they chose for the performance. What they fail to realize is that despite who they chose and the length of the performance  THERE WAS A TRIBUTE FOR BOB MARLEY tonight! And that in itself is a humongous deal. Some friends of mine have also pointed out that this is the same awards show that doesn’t televise the Reggae Award presentation. So for them to actually allow this performance is pretty good enough  Also, the Marley sons have rehearsed and done this performance so for them this wasn’t a dishonour to their father because I’m pretty sure they would have refused to do it if they felt the need to.

So friends, chill a little and bask in the opportunities that we have been presented over the last 2 weeks with the VW ad, The SuperBowl big ups and now this Grammy’s Tribute because if you look at it – WE ARE GREAT!

And the whole world has realised this. It’s about time we do too.
